The 8th February is the feast day of Saint Josephine Bakhita, and the international day of prayer and awareness against Human Trafficking.
The day is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the conditions that make extreme exploitation endemic in our society, and the radical thinking and action demanded of us if we are to “break every yoke” of oppression (Isaiah 58 v 6).
